Grossbuch — Privacy Policy

Grossbuch is a personal finance app for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and what leaves your device. The short version: your financial data stays on your phone. We do not have an account system, we do not run servers that receive your data, and we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs.

1. Data you enter

Accounts, balances, transactions, transfers, exchange rates, categories and notes that you enter are stored only in the app's local database on your device. We cannot see, access or recover this data. The app keeps no copy of its own anywhere. If your iPhone backs itself up (iCloud or Finder/computer backup), that backup includes this data like it includes the rest of your device, and restoring it restores your data along with everything else.

2. Data the app does not collect

Grossbuch does not collect or transmit any of the following: your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, usage analytics or crash reports. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.

3. Market exchange rates

To show a reference market rate when you have no exchange history of your own for a currency pair, the app asks a single endpoint, api.frankfurter.dev, for the official rates of four central banks: the European Central Bank, the National Bank of Georgia, the Bank of Russia, and Banca d'Italia. To fill in a rate, the app asks the rate service for rates on or around the operation's date. No amount, description, identifier or account data is ever in the request, and we run no server of our own for it to go to. The service sits behind Cloudflare, which — like any network intermediary — sees the request, including your IP address. Only each bank's latest rate is kept as a downloaded quote on your device, replacing the one before it: a rate looked up for a past date is never added there, but it is written into that transaction's own record and stays there as part of it, for good. You can use the app fully offline; in that case market rates are simply unavailable.

4. Children

Grossbuch is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and does not knowingly collect data from them. The app collects no personal data from anyone.

5. Your rights

Because all your data is on your device, you exercise your rights directly: view it in the app, or delete it by deleting the app. If you have questions, or believe we hold any data about you — we do not — contact support@grossbuch.app.

6. Changes

If a future version of the app changes what data is handled — for example, if we introduce optional sync between devices — we will update this policy and the effective date, and the app will ask for your consent before enabling any feature that sends data off your device.

7. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Georgia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
